International Subluxation and Technique Symposium (Online 2025)

Summary

The Symposium’s objective is to provide Doctors of Chiropractic an integrated education in the neuropathophysiology of the subluxation complex, including clinical analysis and technique.

The program will amplify the practitioners’ understanding of current developments in the assessment and scientific evidence-based knowledge of the vertebral subluxation complex and its impact on neurobiology and neurophysiology of the human body.

HOUR 1 – Principles of Practice

Chiropractic and Mental Health Disorders

The purpose of this course is to provide the participant a better understanding of the role of chiropractic and health and human performance with particular attention to mental disorders. This course provides an overview of past and current research demonstrating the effectiveness of chiropractic on mental conditions.

HOUR 2 – Technique

The Power of the Knee Chest Adjustment
Ian Davis-Tremayne
Learn why the Knee Chest Adjustment can be specific, powerful, and gentle all at the same through this one-hour seminar.
By the end of the seminar, participants will be better able to:
  • Utilize the asymmetry and biomechanics of the upper cervical complex to provide the most specific adjustment
  • Know WHEN to make the adjustment in order to get the best results
  • Understand that the adjustment is a combination of multiple factors that when utilized correctly can make it appear gentle and non-invasive to the patient.

HOUR 3 –Technique / Exam

Fundamental Gonstead System Analysis, Setup and Adjusting Procedures for Pelvis, Sacrum, and Lumbar Spine

This seminar will focus on key concepts of analysis along with tips for keeping the patient in a neutral position during the side posture adjustment utilizing the Gonstead System.
By the end of the seminar, participants will be better able to:
  • Analyze the ilium, sacrum, and lumbar spine.
  • Perform the side posture set-up
  • Apply concepts of analysis and adjustive set-ups for pelvis, sacrum, and lumbar subluxation correction

HOUR 4 – Diagnostic Imaging Analysis

Radiographic Line Analysis for Valid Clinical Documentation

This course will review the methodology of radiographic computer line analysis of the spine for accurate and valid clinical documentation.

HOURS 5-6 - Diagnostic Imaging Analysis

Advanced Imaging of the Upper Cervical Spine

This course is designed to demonstrate the use of CBCT (cone beam computer tomography) for Subluxation analysis of the upper cervical spine. CBCT imaging procedures and line drawing analysis will be covered, as well as particular case studies from clinical practice will be reviewed.

HOUR 7 – Technique / Case Studies

Atlas Orthogonal for Complex Case Management

Learn how and why Atlas Orthogonal can be applied safely and effectively in cases of traumatic injury, instability, and neurovascular compromise.  We will review patient success stories and gain an understanding of why Atlas Orthogonal was able to achieve results in each case.

HOUR 8 – Research / Technique 

Systematic review of clinical trials on CBP® Technique for cervical spine disorders
Deed Harrison, DC
This course provides an integrated education for the Doctor of Chiropractic in the science and art of cervical spine disorders. A detailed literature review is presented of the non-randomized and randomized trials covering correction of the sagittal cervical spine to improve a variety of cervical disorders in patient populations. This survey of research material will be reviewed supporting the utilization and efficacy of CBP® technique structural rehabilitation treatment methods across a multitude of cervical spine disorder populations.
  • 3- Non randomized clinical control trials
  • 10 randomized clinical control trials testing extension cervical traction procedures for rehabilitation of cervical lordosis cervical spine disorders.
  • Types of cervical spine disorders that have been found to respond to corrective chiropractic care: neck pain, neck disability, range of motion.
  • Sensori-motor control definition, methods, and outcomes.
  • Neuro-physiological measures and outcomes: Dermatomal somato-sensory evoked potentials (DSSEP’s) and central conduction time.
  • Frequency, duration, and clinical guidelines of care

HOUR 9 – Exam / Diagnostic Testing

Evidence Based Use of Paraspinal Thermography in the Chiropractic Assessment
