Overview

Founded on tone lecture takes a look back in time from the perspective of DD Palmer writings on Tone, from his book “The Chiropractors Adjustor, 1910”. Starting with defining Tone, to looking at how tone is used in current times, to relating tone to healing and health then reviewing DD’s perspective on what he meant by his quote “Chiropractic is founded on tone”. We will be looking at DD’s ideas on health and disease, Stephenson’s signs of life and concluding with a comparative look at modern day medical doctors and philosophical chiropractors written words on tone.

Learning Objectives

Participants will take a philosophical look back in time at the teachings of DD Plamer, (founder of chiropractic) to get a better understanding of his intention and direction of chiropractic. As well as comparing modern day views on the topic of tone as it relates to health and function.

  • Discussion and defining Tone from an everyday view point leading to the application of Tone to the body in health and function. 
  • Physical examples of Tone, as it relates to a healthy functioning body.

    • Cranial dural tension
    • CSF flow in spinal cord surgery
    • Comparison of dry spines
  • Signs of life; Stephenson’s Chiropractic Text book. 
  • DD Palmer’s Four postulates of health and disease. 

Hour 2

  • Look at paragraphs from DD Palmer’s text “The Chiropractors Adjustor, 1910” 
  • The conclusion is to bring it full circle and look at the views of modern day medical doctors and philosophical chiropractors printed words on tone as it relates to health and function.
