Compassion and Chiropractic Healthcare (Weiner, Online 2026)

Overview

In the wake of the COVID debacle the healthcare industry in general has suffered a great loss in confidence among the public. Healthcare providers, as well, have become disenchanted with physician burnout rampant and many opting out of the profession as a result. We will discuss the need to respond to the surveyed voices and understand their doubts and complaints. This course will present studies published that demonstrate compassionate care as a remedy for physician burnout and a vehicle for regaining public trust.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this seminar the participants will better be able to:

  1. Have a better understanding of the failings of the Allopathic model in patient care.
  2. Have an appreciation for the Chiropractic paradigm and its beneficial effect on a truly Health Care Model.
  3. Appreciate the differences between sympathy, empathy and compassion
  4. Apply learning techniques to enable health professionals to achieve a compassionate outlook towards patients.

Hour 1

  • Welcome
  • Take care of ADMIN issues and overview of the perceived problem as identified in papers and studies performed and published concerning healthcare and the medical field.
  • Present sympathy, empathy and compassion compare and contrast their definitive differences and their psychological intricacies. 

Hour 2

  • Discuss paradigms, Chiropractic and medical, and how they are perceived by the public.
  • Present sociological and psychological research concerning mechanisms for successfully conveying and establishing change in the individual’s perception.
  • Illustrate how employing these mechanisms can be key in promulgating the Chiropractic paradigm of health.
  • Finish with questions and brief test on material offered.
